Dr. Cayla Moore was born and raised in California and received her B.S. in Animal Biology from the University of California in Davis. Shortly after graduating, she was accepted into the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. After attaining her DVM, she interned at the New Jersey Equine Clinic, gaining knowledge and experience in lameness, diagnostic imaging, surgery, and anesthesia. Following that year, she began another internship in southern California at Humphrey, Giacopuzzi, and Associates Equine Hospital and became an associate veterinarian shortly thereafter. While there, she gained experience in internal medicine, reproduction, and emergency medicine and surgery. The landscape and people of this area drew her away from California, and she moved here to use her experience and clinical skills to help the horses of southwest Utah.

She has been riding horses since she was ten. Her heart horse, Mick, has recently passed, and he is dearly missed. He had been her constant companion through high school, undergrad, veterinary school, two internships, and starting her own practice. He taught her much, and his influence is noted in every aspect of her practice.

She is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), and she enjoys further improving her skills through continuing education. She currently resides in New Harmony with her dog.
